Levenscyclusanalyse (LCA) and Environmental Product Declaration (EPD)
Overview
A life cycle analysis (LCA) maps the environmental impacts across the entire life cycle of a product. LCA provides an answer to the growing demand from the European market to produce sustainable products, for the construction sector, food sector, retail, etc. alike. An environmental product declaration records the environmental impact of a product based on such a life cycle analysis.
More and more customers are asking for a CO2 footprint, EPD or … In an increasing number of European Union countries and sectors, LCA and/or EPD is becoming mandatory. A company needs an EPD to be part of green building certification programs such as BREEAM, LEED, DGNB, BNB, GreenStar, … EPDs are often required for green public procurement (GPP), for tenders.
This training shows you what the LCA method is and how an environmental product declaration (EPD) is built up. You can get started with proposed techniques to make your product more sustainable in terms of environmental performance.
